Meet Kyna
Certified Child Life Specialist & Owner
Hello! I am so glad you are here. Having grown up with both of my parents being ill, I deeply relate to the complexities families face when navigating difficult days, big emotions and significant worries and fears. While questions were always answered honestly in my home, there weren't many chances to ask them. This experience ignited my desire to help kids who, like me, faced similar uncertainties related to illness, doctors, hospitals and procedures, but more than that the big questions! Discovering the field of child life felt like finding the last piece of a puzzle. From that moment on, I dedicated myself to my education and pursued a successful clinical career in a tertiary children's hospital. With experience in medical imaging, phlebotomy labs, acute inpatient, ambulatory and emergency care, I have developed a strong and keen knowledge of supporting children in and about these environments. Leading my team has been incredibly rewarding, and I've consulted and engaged with over 500 professional colleagues in workshops and process change improvements aimed at making hospitals and healthcare environments happier places for children. Currently, I live in Sarnia with my wife, our two beautiful children, and our dog. When I'm not working, you can find me at the beach, in my woodshop, or playing outside!
