Playful Pathways Child Life Counselling and Consulting
Finding your path, forward and together.
Certified Child Life Specialists focus on protecting and supporting the emotional well-being of children facing difficult situations. These situations often involve illness, injury, hospitalization, or the death or loss of a loved one. By providing specialized care and services, they help reduce the impact of these challenges on children and their families.
About Me.
Playful Pathways is a vision come to life, with a mission to bring expert advice and support to families navigating the complex emotional demands of illness and loss. I know intimately through personal experience the constant worry, fear, anxiety and questions that come when a child, or an adult is diagnosed with an illness, endures an injury or a significant loss. Most often, its "what and how do I tell my kids?" followed closely by "how do I help them?".

I started out my career looking to help families answer these questions. After a decade working as a Certified Child Life Specialist, and as a leader for a team of 25 specialists in the children's hospital setting, I am bringing my knowledge, skills and expertise to the community. In my experience of helping countless families prepare for and succeed in medical imaging, emergency departments, blood labs, vaccination clinics, surgery and navigating child and adult critical care environments, I have seen first-hand the incredible potential children have to face difficult experiences. There is courage and resilience that allow us to leave children empowered, not scared for the next time. I whole-heartedly believe that children are so capable, and with the right guidance and support, can travel through these experiences with courage and fortitude.
I was born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario and have recently come back home with my family. When we're not working and learning, we love adventuring outdoors, being creative and soaking up hours at the beach.
